Cruising
The primary mission of Stonington Cruising
Club is to plan, organize and facilitate a
comprehensive cruising program for its
members. This is intended to be a
well-thought-out, safe and enjoyable experience
for members who enjoy sailing to harbors on the
East Coast from Maine to Chesapeake Bay.
Cruises to Maine are three or four weeks in
duration and are conducted on alternate years.
During non-Maine years, cruises to the islands
along the New England coast or to Chesapeake
Bay are arranged.  Weekend cruises to local
harbors in Narragansett Bay, Buzzards Bay, the
forks of Long Island and other destinations
within a day or two of Stonington often are
arranged during the boating season.

2008 Calendar
From the Cruise Director
Dear Friends...

There are no more Club cruises planned for July; however,
the Bonners and Walters are planning to go on two short
cruises in July and they have invited anyone interested to
join them.

I sent their schedules to everyone in an email on June 25th;
they leave on July 7th and again on July 26th. If you plan to
join up please contact them directly.

The next Club cruise following our trip to Maine is on the
weekend of August 16/17 in West Harbor on Fishers Island.
The Walters are harbor captains - drinks and dinner will be
aboard participants' boats. Please let us know if you plan to
go so that everyone has a part to play.

The last two scheduled cruises of the year are Shelter
Island on Labor Day weekend (Truitts harbor captains) and
Mystic Seaport three weeks later (Bonners harbor
captains). We'll get all the details to you a couple weeks
ahead of time.

Last year we had an impromptu Block Island meeting of
about eight boats in mid-October; they enjoyed no crowds
and good weather. With an eye on the weather, we might
plan on doing the same this year.
