Notice of Annual Meeting... Dear SCC Members, Please note in your diaries the dates and times for the SCC Annual General Meeting. Saturday, October 25, 2008 - Stonington Cruising Club Annual Meeting The meeting will be held at the Seamans Inne at the Mystic Seaport, in the Morgan Suite East Start Time: 2:00 PM End Time: 4:30 PM Following the meeting there will be a cash bar reception, which begins in the Morgan Suite West, followed by dinner, also in the Morgan Suite West, commencing at 6:30pm. See below for details of the Dinner menu. We will need to know the number of members expecting to attend, since this is a catered event. anticipated cost of the dinner will be around $75 per person, not including drinks. Labor Day Cruise... This year's Labor Day cruise will be held on August 30 and 31 and September 1 at the Shelter Island Yacht Club on Long Island. Most SCC boats will be leaving on Saturday morning, August 30, for the 35-mile sail to Dering Harbor. We will be returning to Stonington on Labor Day which is Monday, September 1. We are planning a group dinner at the yacht club on Saturday evening. Note: Men must wear jacket and tie at this dinner. We will not be able to use the club's facilities on Sunday because of a large members' party that's planned for that day, so the current plan is to have drinks and dinner on our moorings -- or in Greenport, NY which is available by ferry. Mystic Seaport Cruise... The SCC Annual Progressive dinner will be held at Mystic Seaport 9/20 and 9/21. It is also the Antique Car show with a band concert on the Green Sat night and a parade Sunday. Please call the Dock Master at 860/572-5391 for reservations (we have 10-12) also CH 68. Bridge opens 20 before the hour. Please email Jane & Roger for RSVP and let them know if you would be interested in bringing appetizers, or desserts, or preparing an entree on your boat. Jane Bonner.
